Continuing our tradition of technical seating innovation, we offer phthalate- and fire-retardant-chemical-free vinyl upholstery for ESD and combination cleanroom/static-control seating. Developed in collaboration with a specialty films, coatings, and fabric expert to comply with mandates by the State of California and other jurisdictions, our Microcon upholstery is available on BioFit ESD and combination ISO 3 to ISO 8/ESD-rated chairs and stools.
Microcon upholstery meets California’s law limiting fire-retardant chemicals in all upholstered seating shipping into the state to 1,000 parts per million or less. The ESD vinyl blend is the culmination of a BioFit initiative and partnership with Duracote Corporation of Ravenna, Ohio ‒ a renowned designer of industrial coatings and flexible materials, including laminated and coated films, foams and non-woven fabrics used in architectural and transportation interiors and custom applications.
In addition to meeting ISO, ESD, phthalate- and FR-free requirements, the vinyl features enhanced 4-way stretchability and tear strength over our original Microcon blend. Colors include all-new burgundy as well as blue and black. Microcon upholstery is available standard on all of our ESD and combination cleanroom/ESD seating. All BioFit seating for static-control applications is rated for use in facilities compliant with American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/ESD S20.20.
